About Us
Tapawingo Day Care is a non-profit, government licensed child care facility which opened in 1971 as an outreach into the community by Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
We are located within the church building at 9 Clarendon Ave.
We are open all year round and have a licensed capacity of 67 children aged 18 months to 12 years old.
The majority of our staff are graduates of the Early Childhood Education Program of a community college and are registered with the College of ECEs but we also employ a few assistant teachers who have been trained at the Day Care and/ or are enrolled in an ECE Apprenticeship Program.
All staff undergo a police check (Vulnerable Sector Search) and have training in both First Aid and CPR. They also take part regularly in workshops and courses which keep them up to date with their professional training.
Staff to Child Ratios
Toddlers – aged 18 to 30 months 1 – 5
(a group of ten children)
Pre-school – aged 2.5 to 5 years 1 – 8
(a group of sixteen children)
Kindergarten – aged 5 to 6 years 1 – 12
(a group of twelve children)
School Age – aged 6 to 10 years 1 – 15

Day Care Administration
The Day Care is managed by a Supervisor and an Assistant Supervisor. Both are graduates of an Early Childhood Education Program from a community college and are registered with the College of ECE‘s
Tapawingo Day Care is a non-profit corporation which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who meet regularly to oversee the operation of the Day Care.
This Board is comprised of Community members, and parents of children attending the Day Care.
